John was born and raised in Hodgenville, Kentucky. After graduation in 1965, he entered the family memorial business. He and his wife, Paula, have been married for over 40 years. They have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
John is involved with the community through Hodgenville First Baptist Church, rotary, and the Baptist Hospital Foundation board. He has also served on the board of Campbellsville University.
